Dr. Gabriel Lasala from Tchefuncte Cardiovascular Associates (TCA) has received approval from the Federal Drug and Food Administration (FDA) to conduct stem cell research on humans in the United States. That places this private medical practice at the vanguard of medical research, even ahead of prestigious universities. Stem cells will be taken from the subject and multiplied in a petrie dish. These cells will be injected using two protocols. One method is to inject the cells directly to the site of a heart attack using a cardiac catheter. The other method is to inject the cells in the damaged area during coronary artery bypass surgery. The stem cells will become new cardiac cells that will increase the heart's strength.
This exciting research is the dawn of a new future for treating cardiac disease and prolonging life. TCA is proud to be a leader in this field.
Treatments for Cardiovascular Disease
Our research company at present focuses primarily on treatments for cardiovascular disease. Current studies include proposed therapies for pre-diabetes, coronary artery disease and obesity, cholesterol lowering medications, new medicines to treat atrial fibrillation and a new treatment for patients with congestive heart failure and anemia.
We also conduct device trials, including pacemaker, defibrillators, resynchronization therapy and carotid stents.
All office visits, labs, procedures and medication are at no cost to the patient with the exception of some device trials. Post-market device studies (implant & visits) are covered by your insurance. Some studies also pay for time and travel expenses. The majority of our trials also involve free lifestyle counseling with regard to diet and exercise.
